An intimate wedding, here in Orlando at the always accommodating DoubleTree Castle Hotel with “just the 2 of them” wedding. Nathalia & Gilberto are from Brazil. They speak Portuguese and almost NO English. Needless to say, there was a “slight” language barrier. Gilberto does speak some English, but he is a bit limited.
Because it was “just the 2 of them,” her mother was back home in Brazil. Fortunately, her mom was able to converse with Nathalia via web cam, up until she was ready to leave her hotel room and walk up the aisle. Mom wished her luck and we were on our way!
We had a great time, of course. Perhaps a bit challenging (linguistically, of course) but well worth it. After all, who doesn’t enjoy something a little different?
The good news of course, is that at a wedding, on her very special day, language does NOT matter. Love, romance, fun and beauty has NO language barrier!
